International Centre for Infectious Diseases
The International Centre for Infectious Diseases Inc (ICID) is a Canadian organization providing innovative leadership and collaborative solutions for the global fight against infectious diseases. We do this by:
- Mobilizing Scientific and Public Health Expertise - bringing together people and resources for the business, academic, government and not-for-profit sectors to address national and international infectious disease challenges.
- Building Professional and Technical Capacity - delivering specialized training to public health and high-containment laboratory personnel throughout the world.
- Leading National and International Initiatives - providing managerial and secretariat services to the infectious diseases community. Since 2004, ICID has been working to increase collaboration among researchers, physicians and public health specialists to help Canadians achieve greater protection and value from public health investment and infectious diseases innovation.
We work with organizations throughout the world who share our dedication to fighting disease and fostering innovation.

Ukraine Project Update: Assessment Phase
In order to design effective HIV programs and services, ICID and UNICEF will complete an initial assessment phase to fill crucial knowledge gaps in Ukraine. ICID will be taking the lead in designing and conducting a social mapping study of the most at-risk female youth, including where they can be found, and a review of what influences their attitudes, behaviours and interactions with the wider community.
